1. Make a special feature of the Bible in your church. Explore a variety of approaches to public reading (e.g. dramatic reading).
2. Preach and teach regularly on the importance of reading the Bible.
3. Run a short Bible reading programme giving practical help and advice.
4. Challenge everyone in your church to read the Bible everyday for a month. You could use Grow With The Bible for a Month.
5. Make Bible reading materials available to house groups.
6. Give a free copy of Bible reading notes to everyone who is given a Bible in your church.
7. Appoint someone in your church to act as the Bible reading notes representative/secretary – someone with enthusiasm who will encourage others to use them.
8. Encourage members of the congregation to share with others – through the Church Newsletter or during a Sunday Service – a Bible passage that has challenged and inspired them.
9. Talk to your local Bookseller about providing your church with a selection of Bible reading materials – or contact Grow with the Bible.
10. Review your own personal Bible reading. Perhaps try a different Bible translation. Your own attitude to personal Bible reading will have a major impact.
